Back To School Angels
June 21 - July 27
South Suburban Family Shelter’s Back to School Angel project is celebrating its 13th year. We hope you will join us in continuing our tradition of giving our children clients, who are witnesses to domestic violence, a book bag full of their personally needed back to school items.
Our goal is to provide each of our children a backpack full of their school supplies so that they can start off their school year on a positive note!
So… Can we count on you to be an angel? You can adopt a child’s list yourself, or do this as a group project with your own children since it is something they can relate to and understand. Some angels prefer to provide gift cards or send a check; which is also greatly appreciated since we try to give each child $50 in gift cards (Target/Walmart). We give gift cards along with their supplies so that their parents can purchase shoes, clothes and/or any other specific needs.
Those interested in being an Angel should contact Events and Volunteer Manager, Brittany Williams at email@example.com. Brittany will begin angel assignments on June 28th.
If you are an Angel who would prefer to provide gift cards, or send a check, please mail cards/checks to:
South Suburban Family Shelter Attn: Back to School Angels 18139 S. Harwood, Homewood, IL 60430
Checks should be made payable to: South Suburban Family Shelter with BTSA in the memo.
The deadline to drop off items will be July 26th so that we may distribute the book bags to the students before their first day of school. If you have any questions please contact Brittany at 708.794.2140 x303 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
